Anna Zanusso ha tirato un giro di quelli che si ritagliano dal giornale e si appendono al muro. 63, bogey-free, quattro birdie consecutivi sulle prime nove, andata in 32 e ritorno in 31. Quando ha finito aveva il record del Legend Course al Constance Belle Mare Plage, a Mauritius. Il MCB Ladies Classic è alla prima edizione, primo evento del Ladies European Tour mai disputato sull'isola. Zanusso ha chiuso quarta da sola.
Dall'altra parte dell'oceano, Carolina Melgrati non aveva ancora superato un taglio sull'LPGA Tour, fino a venerdì. Domenica ha chiuso T9. Tra le due cose c'è stato il sabato passato a camminare accanto a Danielle Kang, una campionessa Major, e un giro finale che ha portato l'italiana di Monza nella top 10 del Riviera Maya Open al Mayakoba a -5. Primo top 10 in carriera. L'ultima italiana ad arrivarci era stata Giulia Molinaro nel 2021. Per una rookie al primo anno sul circuito, è il tipo di passo che ti riposiziona.

E poi c'era Antalya. Gregorio De Leo era a un colpo dalla vetta, par 3 della 11, ultimo giro del Turkish Airlines Open. Il momento che tutti i giocatori sognano. Si è fermato quasi due minuti sul tee, più del doppio di quanto il regolamento permette, e ha ricevuto la penalità che meritava. Par cancellato, bogey scritto. Non è stata una decisione arbitraria: era scritto nel regolamento, il regolamento era pubblicato, e lui ha scelto di non rispettarlo. Due bogey alla 15 e alla 17 hanno fatto il resto. T7 finale a -6. Un torneo regalato nel modo più evitabile possibile.

Mentre De Leo perdeva un torneo in un modo che non si dimentica, Guido Migliozzi lo chiudeva nel modo più suo. Niente tilt, niente dichiarazioni, solo un giro pulito. T2 a -8, due colpi dietro lo svedese Mikael Lindberg, che ha vinto. Migliozzi gioca così da sempre. Quando funziona, sembra facile. Matteo Manassero ha chiuso T13.
Una settimana in cui, lunedì mattina, c'è da scegliere chi raccontare.

Anna Zanusso shot a 63 on an island that had never hosted a Ladies European Tour event before. Bogey-free. Four consecutive birdies on the front nine, out in 32 and back in 31. When she walked off the 18th at the Legend Course at Constance Belle Mare Plage in Mauritius, she owned the course record. The MCB Ladies Classic was a first-edition event, a brand new stop on the LET calendar, and Zanusso treated it like she'd been playing the place for years. She finished fourth outright.
Across the Atlantic, Carolina Melgrati had a different kind of week. She had never made an LPGA Tour cut before Friday. By Sunday she had a top 10. In between, she spent a Saturday walking alongside Danielle Kang, a Major champion, which is either intimidating or clarifying depending on what kind of competitor you are. Melgrati closed at -5 to finish T9 at the Riviera Maya Open at Mayakoba. First top 10 of her career. The last Italian woman to get there was Giulia Molinaro in 2021. For a rookie in her first season on tour, it's the kind of result that gets people paying attention.
Then there was Turkey.
Gregorio De Leo stood on the par-3 11th tee in the final round of the Turkish Airlines Open with a share of the lead. He took nearly two minutes over his tee shot. The rules allow half that. The penalty came immediately, par turned into bogey, and whatever momentum he had walking onto that tee was gone. He bogeyed 15 and 17 as well and finished T7 at -6. The ruling wasn't harsh or controversial — the pace of play regulation was published, it was applied correctly, and De Leo simply didn't follow it. A tournament given away in the most preventable way possible.
While De Leo was handing his back, Guido Migliozzi was quietly collecting his. No drama, no story, just a clean final round and a T2 at -8, two shots behind Swedish winner Mikael Lindberg. Migliozzi has always been like this — steady enough that you sometimes forget he's there until you check the leaderboard and find him near the top. Matteo Manassero finished T13.
